It's not that cold in most of Wyoming and Colorado and the west.... which is why all the winds. Any "warming", day or night, at -10 or 40 degrees, this time of year, you get these wicked downslope winds that seem to never stop. I'm doing an oil change in Rawlins and out of hours but heavy and headed to Memphis. I expect the light vehicles closure across from Walcott to Cheyenne to still be in play all night but I'm rolling early in the morning, regardless.

NWS currently has the high wind warning in effect until Saturday afternoon but it's entirely possible an extension will be issued at some point. Will probably continue to blow until the next cold air mass settles in which is some time off.
