Can any of you experienced flat bedders tell me how much those tarps weigh that one might have to carry to the top of a 13' load?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

steel tarps are 80lbs and the lumber tarps are 120lbs but you dont carry them up you put the tarps on the last bundle going on the truck :biggrin_25515:

Why even lift them that high? Work smart. Roll them onto the forks and let the lift do the labor.:biggrin_25525:

They should hire you. I expect you will have to go out with a trainer for the full 5 weeks as you have not done flatbed before and don't have six months of experience yet. I could be mistaken about that you will have to check with a recruiter.

TMC has good trainers for the most part. There are a few lousy ones I expect, and there is always the chance that you will not click with your trainer. At TMC you have to call in to your training coordinator every week so you can tell him if you aren't getting along with your trainer, or if your trainer is neglecting something.

That should be an excellent area. TMC will let you take home any load going accross I-70 I think. I think I delivered down in your neighborhood once it is sort of a resort/vacation spot isn't it? I know I saw Columbia several times we have one company that we do a lot of business with there.

A typical week for you will have you leaving home Sunday Evening to go and park at your consignee in Kansas City waiting for your 7am delivery appointment. You will get unloaded there and have a good selection of freight going in all directions. You might pick up steel tube or perhaps Variform Vinyl siding on a multiple stop trip to Minnesota ending on Wednesday, From there you may take a load of OSB (also known as chipboard, waferboard, etc) lumber to Iowa for Thursday. From there you will take a load to St Louis for Friday morning and pick up a load in Granite City IL going accross your house for the weekend.
