Hello everyone. I am working on getting my CDL and paying for it from my own pocket. I gave myself till March to leave the job I'm in now. It started out great but my boss has been changing too many policies and now I'm making less than half what I was making. I know it will be an adventure at first. I know I'll have to learn the game and that I will have lots of stressful moments, but I've been thru that before and I manage to get thru the learning curve and usually I become very good at what I do. I'm not bragging I promise.
If there are folks on here who don't mind getting me thru this transition by offering helpful advice and possibly some mentoring I would appreciate it. I'm easy going and I listen even if I know what you are about to say.
I want to earn 2k per week ASAP, I know that's probably not possible first year. I want to work up to 3-5k weekly consistently. I don't mind staying out I don't need home time I need to hustle. I'm talking net not gross. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I live in Louisiana but I don't mind moving anywhere. I'm a hard worker and been working since I was 13 years old. Trucking is something I've always wanted to do not just something I thought of last month. I just didn't want to sacrifice family time but now it doesn't matter really.
Thank you all

Near I-10? Arcadiana? That's tanker territory. Some of those guys do make a hundred grand a year as company driver.

Scvready Thanks this.

2k a week? Good luck buddy unless youre running specialized loads and have experience. 3-5 k weekly will NEVER happen unless an owner and netting that will still be tough
Tb0n3, Toomanybikes, tman78 and 3 others Thank this. -

I didnt see anything about an O/O as your goal especially since you dont even have a license. Get license and drive a year. Youll make between 30-50k then see if the OTR life is for you then make a decision. O/O you can definitely gross anywhere from 12-20k a month as long as things are not breaking on you
tman78 and diesel drinker Thank this. -
