Mass shooting yet again

Your headlines are no better than the fake news. That wasn't a "mass shooting", but rather a simple domestic disturbance that exploded when the cops arrived to intervene. 4 cops, 2 civilians, gunman believed to be dead. I'm guessing the other civilian was the other party in the domestic disturbance...but haven't read all of the details. Be interesting to find out who's bullet injured that other civilian.

 

They said today in Houston someone was arrested at a Hotel with numerous firearms found in his room and in his car. That hotel is hosting a New Years party tonight. Will be interesting to see if someone does in fact do something terroristic tonight.

 

I have numerous firearms in the above mentioned. I won’t cause any drama.

There is no universal definition of a mass shooting, but there is some consensus towards defining it as:

any incident in which four or more people are shot, whether injured or killed​

So, this incident certainly fits that definition. It is not a mass killing (yet), which is the death of three or more (codified).

Nor was this a "simple domestic disturbance"...

The gunman who killed one Douglas County deputy and wounded four others ambushed the law enforcement officers as they responded to a domestic disturbance call at a Highlands Ranch apartment complex, Sheriff Tony Spurlock said Sunday.

“He knew we were coming,” Spurlock said. He said the gunman used a rifle and fired at least 100 rounds.

Four deputies arrived at the gunman’s home in the Copper Canyon Apartments at the same time. They were immediately shot, and they called for backup.

Of course he knew they were coming. Those involved in a domestic disturbance are seldom surprised when the cops show up, and domestic disturbances are also among the most dangerous types of calls a cop can respond to...because the cops really can't do anything "right" at the scene. That woman who managed to call 911 while she was getting the snot beaten out of her will turn on the cops when they try to arrest her man for the whooping she was getting when she called them out.
