If you have a problem in your background and there is still PTL signing you up for orientation, that means it’s not a big deal. Listen to Chinatown’s advice above. Start applying to everyone on the main page of this website that you are on now. That’s how I got my job and it worked great. Don’t drag your feet and complain about “nobody” will give you a chance. Get busy. Once you get hired on, it won’t matter that is was difficult.

Ill give you the same advice I would give anyone. You've been hired. Go with that company. Do your training. Work hard. Don't be a whiner and a complainer. Just do your job.Keep your eyes open and your ears peeled. Watch the way other drivers do things. Recognize the difference between the good ones and the bad ones. Don't fall into the ##### fest trap. Don't fall into the counter know it all trap. Drive with respect. Stay at your first company for a while. TAKE YOUR TIME researching and making a move to a different company.
    REMEMBER
Trucking sucks, and you aren't going to find a better company than your first one for a couple years after you start, because there isn't THAT much difference between them.
    The grass isn't always greener.
When you can fill out your application, and in the section under last 10 years employment you have only 1 or 2 entries, everybody will want you.

Most “starter” companies are all the same... nothing much will be different for your 1st 6 months of sacrifice to get your foot in the door of this industry... Just hang in there and know that things do get better after a little bit of time....
