To my surprise my Aobrd app I installed on Dec 17, still let's me edit everything even being connected to ECM. Like drive time, odometer, location, pretty much everything.
I know couple of other ELD apps also allow the same thing and some other crazy stuff, like yard move having no mileage and speed limit limitations. I literally drove 200 miles under Yard Move option. Then you can erase GPS logged location and write your own.
I can see cheating possibilities everywhere.
Does your ELD app allow you to do this?
So if everyone starts cheating again, we will be back to where we started:rolleyes:

Yep, but you only have two more years on that device... But, I figure in 6 months the HOS issues will be addressed and we will not have to worry about this nonsense.

You said it in your first sentence. This is not an ELD. An AOBRD is a completely different device and has little resemblance to an ELD.

Yeah they are made for exactly this reason.
But, if this whole two year aobrd exemption gets token away in two years. The company I decided to use for aobrd “promised Me” that they will have something figured out

6 months? Your dreaming. Congress told the FMCSA in around 1998 that they had to come up with new HOS. It took them until 2003 to publish the final rule on the new regs that started in 2004. The FMCSA will have to go through the rulemaking process to change the 14 hr rule and the safety groups are going to fight it. Drivers will have to make their voices heard for it to have a chance.

Should have followed you on that one. I could use it. Now I am sitting here in Gary, IN since 6 pm instead of being home. I can't sleep either, it's 2 am so I guess in 2 hours I'll be all fresh to go.

edit reason: I made too many grammar mistakes.

You mean we can all go back to paper logging, because that is the only way to get rid of issues. Me sitting here now in this mother...ing place is an issue I had never had before! But I'll figure it out.

edit reason: I had to remove excessive aggressiveness

Tell me about it... They need to fix these HOS. I was delivering yesterday, up North in Michigan. Two lane roads, 6 miles from consignee, and another driver tangled with a four wheeler and rolled his rig. I finally made it to the consignee, hit the dock with 1 minute on the egg timer on my 14. Took an hour to unload, button up the paperwork, slide the tandems, close the doors, scratch head. Dispatch knew what was going on, no parking where I was and no truck stops for 80 miles... Already over 15 hours, I told dispatch I'm rolling, screw this ELD, it is -20, probably more like -30 outside, I'm finding someplace to park and grab a bite to eat... 30 miles later... Walmart!

I have not had a shower since Tuesday, I would normally finish my day and go find one, now, I cannot move unless under circumstances like last night. Just crap luck this week being in places with no facilities and me not being able to move. I would like to rip this thing off the dash. I've driven 643 miles since Tuesday, and hit that 14 hour clock every day, and yes, I am very well rested, but stinky. This is not good.
