Gross after Landstar's cut
-
I've got a reefer and am leased to a carrier doing my on thing, 90% pay.
$1000+ a day $3-$4 a mile has been a piece of cake.
Lastest week truck did over $4 a mile and $9,450 after carriers cut.
So if I bring my truck to Landstar will I make 20%-30% more? $3.50-$5 a mile AFTER Landstar takes their 25%+?
If the rates really are that good there I'd consider going but I've only ever heard they're cheap unless you've got a flatbed. -
If it's not broken, why fix it?
-
If you can do better why not? That's why I stopped being a company driver, why I left Schneider etc
-
I'd have to see what reefers are doing. I don't advocate having your own trailer, in the van world, because there is way too much pre loaded, and you cut yourself out of all of that with your own trailer.
I do know there are some agents making a move on some refrigerated markets.freightwipper Thanks this. -
Reefer at a glance 200 mile radius Chitown. Most is $3 to $4.
About half a dozen, maybe 8, that are from $5 to $9. Those are teams though. -
Take their load board webinar. You can see our board in real time, and they will do a search for you.

How many miles are those $5-$9?
