I hate shimmies. I've got a shimmy that's come back in my front end again. Seems like every other year something makes it shimmy. Gotta love old trucks.

I got new spring bushings sitting in the shop. Mine seems to drive beautifully for a day then just gets a fit for 2 miles then normal agian.

Having the driveshaft done this last time helped a lot of the other shakes, buzzes and wobbles.

What's the wheelbase on that truck tug toy? Been keeping an eye out for a deal on one of these old Internationals but most of them have 232 or shorter wheelbase. I'd like to find one I can put an enclosed sturdy-lite box on like Boyd Bros uses.

I can overhang the front 20" on the edges easily. More in the center. Before my headache rack was instaled almost 4' of overhang.

I wish it had another 20" in it but I haven't missed many loads with it at 233.

Really like your thread and can relate big time I did the same thing you did buying an 05 volvo and for the next five years replacing just about every part some twice or three times doing all my own work in a local shop that allowed me to work in there shop. My accountant kept telling me I was spending to much in repairs and I always blue him off saying I owe no one I was debt free. Then he got thought to me he told me to add 4k to each repair for the week I didn't work cause that what it really cost me. Then in 2014 I bought a Columbia mid roof 13 speed 113000 from Ftizgerald's have read that you don't like them. But I can tell you I have never in the past 3 years ever made so much money. This truck has never had one break down other then one set of tires with no money going to repair plus add working ever week and more time with family it was the best thing I ever done and your depredation help with taxes. My payment is 1300 a month that all I spend other then oil changes. I would always gross 135k to 175k per year then the new truck first year 217k last year 215k this year 210k I'm getting lazy would never buy a used truck again but that's me. The thing is I get to keep all of it other then the payment will buy another new.

Nothing wrong with that! Glad the Fitzgerald is working out for you. I've only been at this a couple of years now. I was worried about getting in over my head. I think I got just about everything taken care off now. Truck has not cost me a dime in 4 months now. I don't really see anything on the horizon either. I'm giving thought to buying another truck in the next year and feel like it may be glider if I do. I'll probly buy a new trailer first though.

As for right now just truckin along with no regrets.

    Priceless!
