Buddy of mine is an o/o and has been since 2002. But now looking to hang up the keys like many others because of Elogs. He has a 95 379 Pete so no elogs required, he thought great news right. Well so far he's thinking bad news. Since the elog mandate has came into play he has been denied 3 loads from different brokers. Said the first question they ask is if he runs elogs. Of coarse he says no and pretty much so does the broker. Anyone else run into this problem yet. I myself was looking to make the jump to o/o with an older truck, but if brokers are going to start saying no if I don't have elogs then I'm looking at the wrong trucks on the ol' truck paper.com

That's retarded. I wonder if they're missing the fact that he's exempt.

Sounds like growing pains as brokers adjust to the new reality. I'm sure he'll have no trouble in the long run.

Back a few years ago I started running a program called eclipse logs which were electronic, had no hook up to anything on the truck, wonder if they crapped that up.?

Sounds like shippers are requiring them so as to avoid ANY problem/liability issues.
Could also be a requirement of big carriers logistics who are brokering out their freight.
Forcing the level playing field they have been trying to get for years because they couldn't compete.

Funny, they (brokers) fully took advantage of the "flexibility" of paper logs when it suited them now all of sudden paper logs are a problem?

We haven't run into that. Sounds like bs to me i would think most brokers would prefer paper logs.
