How cold to leave running ?

Howes is on sale at Menards a lot for $8.50 a bottle

 

Fuel slosh does a good job, but that's not much help on the big road

 

Kwik Trip posts their treatment level on the pump, and I think Coffee Cup does too. Both those are based up north, and can't afford to screw over their customer base, and I trusted them a tad more. At the big chains, you're definitely best off assuming straight #2.

 

if im sleeping in the truck generally anything sub 0 i leave it running between battery consumption over night and the cold i don't trust 100% that it will start in the morning. i will shut it off and run the bunk heater between the time that i park for the night and go to bed but i will re-start the truck and go to bed. if im going home for a couple days i just try to run it down to about 1/4 tank of fuel and top off with #1 and shut it off. i can get power to the block heater and put cables on it if i need when starting it back up when i go home

 

I worried a lot less about restarts when I was dragging a reefer around, nice to have a built in battery charger! Always carried a set of 20' jumper cables when I hauled cars, for the same reason.

 

He has yet to respond to where he is.......I saw the same thing. If he's TN or south, that makes sense, but if he's claiming TA doesn't blend and he's in a northern state, I'm not sure I believe him.

 

when i can when parked home for a few days when its really cold out ill try to just park my truck inside the shop. im not going back out on the road till early Wednesday morning so iv had my truck inside threw all the -20 and colder we have had here for the last several days. unfortunately i cant get a truck and trailer inside my shop at the same time, ill be leaving out real early am weds and i wont want to be out hooking up hydraulic lines ect at that hour in the cold. so ill hook up my trailer tuesday evening and just nose it up to the shop and plug it in but the weather is supposed to be breaking a bit by then anyway.
