Still stuck in Gary Indiana. We're supposed to be in the shop any minute now and it' an easy fix apparently so we'll see what lies ahead

Day 2 is finally done. All we did was pump unloads and I got a pass on the pre-test. Day 3 will be a review if air unloads and then the final test. Last test to pass to finally be fully in the door.

Hey @newbietrucker91 you came into Schneider Bulk with experience, right? Were you originally a Schneider van driver who switched divisions or did you come in from another dry van company? I'm just curious to know whether it'd be better to start in van, get some experience, then move into tankers, or if tankers right from the start would be possible.

I got my CDL about a year ago and haven't used it yet, but from speaking with a recruiter at SNI, they don't seem to think it's an issue as they'll send me to a 3-day refresher course then onto training for whichever job I apply for.

Thanks again to you and @Juanthehumanoid for keeping this thread going!

I never worked for Schneider before. I got my experience at other companies and decided to give tankers a go. Here in training there are people straight out of trucking school joining the tanker side. It's really up to you if you rather learn do van before tanker. It is a different beast when that surge hits but you learn to drive with it.

    WannaGoTrucks2016 and TaterFox Thank this.

I was a previous Schneider Van driver, and heavily considering returning to the company but as a Bulk driver. I did a majority of my Van in my starter years, went on to flatbed, and finally decided to start a new adventure in bulk. I can't really tell you the difference myself, but honestly, I'm thinking I'm going to like bulk a whole lot more than the other two.

Newbie, Juan, it just occurred to me, but what's the policy on beards with bulk? I was unsure and totally forgot to ask, in regards to the respirators I've seen some bulk drivers use when I was bumping into them
