I’m not sure to much about OTR companies. I’ve seen them on the freeway before.
I was a drayage driver and now I’m a tanker driver. You all will have to forgive me I’ve never spent a night away from home...
@travelsizegirl what about Saia ? I’m not sure if the do OTR or team driving. I know they pay well.ladr Thanks this. -
Nothing wrong with that. Own bed every night and someplace to park.
-
Yea I never looked at it like that... I can park wherever I want

Yeah, China is the best at what he does.
Good luck to you with whatever life throws your way. -
Signing no contract is NOT an option with Swift unless you charged the training to a credit card or received a government grant. Total BS. There's no $150 a month in house financing option, they expect you to stay under contract, that's the whole point of having the academy. It's not a money making CDL mill, just a way to recruit OTR drivers and hopefully retain them for at least 13 months.
I don't really care but, I did follow your post about Swift academy from earlier in the year during the time you were writing it, well written, disappointed to see how much your attitude has changed, and basically you are being less than honest about the agreement you made with Swift. That's all I have to say about that. Best of luck. -
Ok, well please tell that to my classmates who have already left and are paying $150/mo to Swift. They should probably know that they are taking an option that apparently doesn't exist.
-
Swift does not have an employment contract for training ... there is a payback arrangement if you stay there for a specified period of time ... but if you leave it just becomes a debt you have to pay off.travelsizegirl Thanks this.
-
A " payback arrangement" is a contract. A "business owner" like you claim yourself to be should know what a contract is. WTF
Although Swift would love to, they cannot force a driver into indentured servitude for their crappy education. A contract is still a contract.Dan.S Thanks this. -
Not an employment contract ...
