Oh I totally agree with that. Noise levels have been low here too last few days. I was hoping channels Friday and herd a couple guys talking on channel 23, and I knew they were way off because they were barley even moving the needle on my radio...After a while I tried to get back with them, only to find out they were down near San Antonio 252 miles away (as the crow fly's)

Had a real good conversation with them for about 15-20 minutes....

It depends on the type of installation. There's always a chance, although you are right about this particular situation. The signal was so weak, it would have been virtually impossible to hear this in a moving tractor trailer. I didn't hear some of it while I was driving, but noticed some things I missed after listening to the recording carefully.

MaCo Shooting Star...and my Cobra 2000 and a Palomar 300a tube amp...the amp is not a monster but usually is enough to get the job done.

    stacks and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Definitely a better investment than a questionable amplifier.

Got a good deal on the Amp...I have a 1x4 XForce base amp with my RCI 2980, but the Cobra and Palomar actually has a better sound, and does better on SSB.

    mike5511 Thanks this.

It looks like Pirate Radio number 9 is enjoying his new barefoot Stryker radio in Riverside California. Mark must have pretty good ears to hear that weak little mobile radio in Pirates car over all the high powered base stations in Southern California.
