    Boots: Schnee’s Pac Boots

    Coveralls: Carhartt

Gloves are tough. If you’re working throwing chains and such, leather is hard to beat. Take a look at Arc’teryx for really warm gear though.

As big a deal as boots are, socks are as important. Try the Darn Tough brand - warm, and lifetime warranty.

Layering under coveralls is really important too. I’m a real fan of woolen long johns, and wool pants/jackets. Johnson Woolen Mills makes good stuff.

I like Carhartt coats, but their boots never liked me years ago.

Have found the Danner 453 Gore tex boots to be good for winter. Just wear dark socks as the leather liner stains & buy a good pair of laces. The stock laces come untied after 5 seconds. But the boots stay together, do not leak water. You will wear the tread off before the boot wears out.

Those themostat gloves are not so bad price wise on Amazon.

Sierra Trading Post is also a good site to watch for winter gear. Have bought Carhartt coats there for $80/$90 when they were $140/$150 elsewhere. Just have to watch for sales once you know what fits.

It was -27 wind chill, last night; while I was loading....
    I will check the sites....
My main problem is cold feet and hands.
I keep the tie down bar warm, by placing it inside the side exhaust pipe.
    Thanks again...

For cold hands I keep a box of disposable mechanics rubber gloves, very thin that I wear underneath my leather gloves. I always take my leather gloves off when in the units, but with a second pair of thin gloves my hands stay warm. I bought a full face ski mask Carhartt a few years ago when going in to northern Michigan twice a week. When it was -30 windchill I had to take it off because it was too hot. I sweat in an ice storm. My Carhartt wool cap had me warm at zero yesterday.

That's what I love about the Thermastats, my hand were never bare in the winter and I didn't have to worry about a dirty glove in a frigid car.

My hands like to crack in the winter, but the gloves keeping my hands cleaner seem to help from cracking.
