I always liked the deep color on that truck. I've always wanted to paint mine black cherry with black fenders.Logan76, 1951 ford, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 3 others Thank this.

The chrome looking thing is my Vintage tachometer for checking shaft rpm's. Patented in 1897.
The other is just a sticker from local 132 Operating Engineers, which I'm a member of.sawmill, Logan76, 4mer trucker and 9 others Thank this. -
Here's how I'm spending my Saturday night. I'm over at my brothers place helping him pump 2' of water out of his basement. It appears the water heater let loose. They were gone for the day when it happened. What a mess!

Glad you got her going! Ya just never know what might come in handy from under the sleeper.
You are talking the transfer pump and not the primer pump, right?
I'll share a little story along those lines:
1989ish a fellow that was leased to the same company that I was bought a new Volvo with a 425 B model in it. We were in Pasco, Washington after having dropped our trailers out at IBP (beef plant). We were going to head back out to the plant as our trailers would be loaded soon, and his new truck starts to act like he had run out of fuel. We pulled over and checked the obvious fuel filters, clogged tank vents, etc. but couldn't find anything wrong. Fortunately there is a Cat shop in Pasco, and he managed to limp it over there, or maybe I towed him - can't remember for sure. The truck had less than 20k miles on it at the time. The truck shop service manager, big guy by the name of Rick in memory serves, slipped it right into a bay. We described the symptons, and Rick scratched his head for a minute and then says "I think I know what it might be". He proceeded to take the primer pump off, and looked at the two check valves. "Aha" he says, found the problem. For those that aren't familiar with the Cat primer pumps, there are two check valves, one of which allows fuel to enter when pulling the plunger out, and one that allows the fuel to exit toward the injection pump. Somehow or another, it is possible for one of the little (about the size of a dime) check valves to pop out and flip over. When this happens it will all but shut the fuel off to the injection pump, and that is what had happened. At the time I thought to myself, I had better remember this.
Two or three years later I'm headed north on I-15 between St. George and Cedar City, Utah, and all of a sudden the truck acts like it is running out of fuel (I had a B model also). It hadn't died completely yet when I got over on the shoulder. I changed fuel filters, checked fuel tank vents, checked fuel level in tanks, and was about to dig into things deeper when I remembered what had happened to my friends truck. I popped the primer pump off and sure enough one of the little check valves had flipped over. I took me several minutes of sucking on the little check valves and tracing the fuel lines to figure out which one was backwards, but sure enough that is all it was.
I'm no mechanic, and this is probably a no-brainer to most, but I was sure proud that I had figured it out!Last edited: Jan 6, 2018

Dang @SAR , it looks like the rest of that basement is most likely finished nicely, and that there will be some damage to contend with. Sorry to hear about this.

You're a member of 132?

It's just a unfinished basement, there is no sheet rock or carpet but yes some electronic equipment ruined. The main goal is trying to get the furnace dried out and going.
-
Good luck, that sucks

Man that sucks....and it doesn't look that old. We just replaced ours last year and the guy installing it said to be sure and replace the anode rods every 2 years to prevent internal corrosion. Good luck on the furnace.
