I think they've revised this and your no longer required to show it.
My load shifted inside of a covered wagon, there's no back story here so I'm not going to bash the guy for not looking in his mirrors.
Driver has a load shift, seems to think the green book rules are just suggestions.

You are required to show all changes of duty status. Nothing has changed about that. If at some point you were required to specify on the log that you are doing an inspection of some sort than yes, that has changed, but you still need to log some on duty time, even if it's just flagging it. If you can show me something that says otherwise I'm happy to see it.
-
The difference is, the regulations state very clearly what on duty time is, and you can substitute sleeper berth for time you would otherwise be required to log on duty not driving IF you are resting in the sleeper berth. You can now log off duty time in a parked CMV, but that wasn't always the case. You can NOT log off duty if the regulations say you should be on duty, even in a parked CMV.

No to either of them. If you log 8 hours in the sleeper, you interrupt the 14 hours. 8 hours sleeper combines with 2 hours either off duty or sleeper to reset the 14 hour to the end of the 8 hours sleeper. If you log that off duty, unless you take 10 hours, it won't stop nor will it reset the 14 hours.
