They can simply say the driver should’ve just left when he was close to running out of time and came back the next day with a fresh 14.

That way they can take all day to unload so it winds up taking 3 days to get one load delivered.

And thats the problem, the shipper has to try to stop the driver, or intimidate him into breaking the law. Just saying it will take 7 hours and you cant park here when its done, is not forcing you to do anything. They can respond "i told him 7 hours ago how long it would take. Not my fault if he cant do math."

Now wait a minute, I noted the same thing in my thread entitled "Fed ex Atlanta, but just the security" saying that they had said I could stay, then after I was out of hours the security guard told me I had to get off the property and I was called everything under the sun, NOBODY stood up for me. They were saying its private property, the security guard had a right, oh I must know more than the security guard, etc etc. But this guy makes a thread and everyone is getting on board about this coercion law.

Ya'll are a bunch of hacks.

A forum is made up of many different people with many differing opinions.

That's just it. There were no "differing" opinions. EVERYONE got on there and made fun of me like I was out of my mind to say that there had to be something about telling me I could stay, allowing my HOS to expire and then forcing me off the property by threat of force. NOBODY mentioned this coercion law or that the security guard, or their company, could be held liable if I am forced to drive out of my HOS and got into an accident. But now, all of a sudden, it's a golden egg.

Maybe those who know about it weren't around, or maybe, just like in this thread, nobody actually believed it to be a real thing.

Maybe if you weren't both running illegaly for going over hos and refusing to move after 10 hours when you legally could have there would have been someone to stand for you. You are just a little millennial snowflake that when doing something wrong you will never admit it.

I worked at a steel mill for 32 years before I retired got my cdl and started driving a truck. There was a large lot behind the mill specifically for truck parking. There was even a port-a-potty there too. Also there were showers in the employees locker room and truckers were permitted to use them as long as it wasn't during a shift change. They tried to be trucker friendly as there were trucks rolling in and out of there 24/7.

I didn't run illegally over HOS and I didn't have HOS available to make the assigned run that I was set to run at that time. Had my trailer gone out on time, 6 hours later, I would have timed out about an hour outside of my consignee. That would have caused a service failure against me by FedEx for failure to deliver on time. My company would not have been paid. As it turned out, my trailer was ready 6 hours early so I could just roll. But had it NOT been, some very high ups at both companies would have had to have had a meeting. Because if I get booted in a lot where I was told to park and I can't complete the job fedex is paying us to do, Fedex will have something to say about it. And they did.

Funny I had the owner of my company call FedEx and they wrote me an apology letter stating that they will do a better job of "educating the guards to the current policies and procedures" so as not to "cause hours of service violations by our contracted companies."

Quite funny how the only person who thought I did anything wrong was the moronic guard who came out of nowhere.
