Too many air fresheners tipped off this driver.

And three states away you can walk in somewhere and buy the stuff right over the counter. Big deal.

This isnt a trucker in a lawful pot state buying a hit or two.
This is trafficking in illegal drugs large enough to go straight to Federal Prison. He's done.LGarrison, dan31186, Aamcotrans and 2 others Thank this. -
Well no sh^t he's done. He's a freaking idiot looking for a fast buck and it cost him big time. My point was, what's the big deal? Why in the heck is pot illegal in the first place?
I don't smoke weed and I rarely drink, and I never drink and drive. But if I had to choose who one of my daughters had to share the highway with while all my grandbaby's are loaded up in her little car, I'm picking the pothead over an alcoholic everyday. And yet booze is sold at darn near every market, gas station and grocery in the country. Marajuana criminalization is retarded, and has been agenda driven all along. Putting people in jail over pot is the real crime. What folks do in the privacy of their own home shouldn't be anybody elses business.Blackshack46 and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -

Yea, dude is an idiot. Dumb to smoke if you got a cdl an drive for a living. Even dumber to try an smuggle 1500+lbs of weed in a 18-wheeler. Especially since most folks know you got a higher chance of getting pulled then you do in a 4 wheeler. Far as him going away forever...I doubt it. If he's got no priors he will do a couple years tops if that. Only way they will throw the book at him is if he DOES have priors, or they find harder drugs. An if he snitches...he won't even do any jail time. Ton of probation though an lots of peeing in a cup.
An that county does make me laugh tho. Trumpeting that bust of 1677lbs of pot(3 pallets) Tucson police and Arizona in general bust way more then that on a regular basis. I'd be more impressed if they busted some meth dealers/cookers, pills, Heroin etc.
I made sure to bold an underline the part where I said it's dumb to smoke an be a CDL holding driver.
Just when I think people can't get any stupider...I'm proven otherwise.

I thought it was three pallets worth too, but they got it spread out as if that was a massive amount. Im not one to tease the law too much, but I would elbow them and tease them a little bit about that spread.
In our area we had a bust in a town not too far over the county here where they showed a .22 and two bags of pot, maybe three pounds worth if that. It's still a bust. But.. eh...
I am intrigued. They say the trucker committed violations on 44. Enough to get herded over and checked.
That leads to me thinking he has some in his system, hence the airfresher.
I'll share something else. Our building finally went smoke free. Certain units have used or begun to use air freshners to cover the smoking. But that does not do well in the long run. The very clothes reveal a smoker.
I used to be one, I should know. -
Except this wasn’t in the privacy of the driver’s home - this was on a major interstate highway. Sorry, but hauling enough weed that weighs as much as a Geo Metro isn’t one of those federally approved past times, especially in an interstate CMV. It may not be a big deal to you but the folks in Oklahoma have a very different opinion on the matter. And they a sense of “ frontier justice” in some parts of the Sooner State.

The "good people" of Oklahoma will be voting to decriminalize marajuana for medical purposes in June, it may very well pass.
Justice needs no qualifier. When you place words like frontier, vigilante, or social, in front of Justice, it is no longer Justice but a perversion of meaning and outcome.
The current penalty for the cultivation or distribution of marajuana in the state of Oklahoma may include up to life in prison. If you think that even closely resembles a just sentence, you're a sad example of a human being without even the vaguest concept of personal liberty.
America holds roughly 5% of the worlds population, 50% of the worlds lawyers, and an embarrasing 20% of the worlds prisoners. We incarcerate more people than any country in the world. 25% of America's prisoners are serving time for non-violent offenses.
Before you go tossing words like "frontier justice" around, in defense of your next lame argument for breaking up homes, ruining lives, placing families on welfare, and children in foster care, over a plant, maybe you should educate yourself. At the very least, try to find a little human decency and compassion for those who may choose to walk a different path than your own.
The trucker was an idiot, he broke the law, he should go to jail. But he would not have been transporting contraband were there not a market for it.
10's of millions of Americans choose to regularly relax and celebrate with alcohol, many will become alcoholics, many will choose to drive under the influence, lives have and will continue to be lost and ruined because of alcohol. We tried prohibition once, it made things worse. Why repeat the same mistake with marajuana, a far less dangerous substance by every conceivable measure.Last edited: Jan 9, 2018

We always hear about the "dumb" criminals... Imagine what the smart ones are doing.

Look no further than the halls of congress, or corporate boardrooms, entertainment and media, the local courthouse, you will find your answer.
Everything hidden will be revealed. God is going to judge this nation and the world. But first He will lay our secret sins to bear, it's happening already.Infosaur, skellr and Blackshack46 Thank this.
