Now I understand why no one built parking spaces sufficient for all trucks....
rank, Jagsfan, lovesthedrive and 8 others Thank this. -
The few places I have been this week, I think more than a few are doing just that. Trucks are unavailable, freight is sitting and the rates are reflecting that. And I am wore out, between this stupid clock pushing me and the high speed driving stunts to beat the f'n clock, rates or no rates, I'm ready to call it a week and go home. I don't like any of this.
Big John Classic HQ, Jagsfan, stayinback and 11 others Thank this. -
They would love that, them big mega,s that have been pushing for the eld rule.. You are trying to protest a electronic device, is it not the rules that are in place the reason you having a dislike for that technology? Contact your states representative and talk to them with constructive ideas on what would it take for it to work right. You have to start guiding these people who make up rules for us to follow, they really are only paper pushers and only do what they are told...sometimes. It is the rules, many studies have been done, so we do not need any of those, but a way for the system to work with shippers and receivers being slow and having no parking needs to be addressed.
stwik, KillingTime and truckthatpassesyouby Thank this. -
Well, not going home, travel agent just called, $6.50 a mile, Lansing MI to Ft Wayne IN, round trip, 18,000 lbs. And this one I can take my time on.

You have to be careful of what you wish for. If current HOS and the EOBR are the main driving factor behind current rates then I say leave well enough alone. When they start changing the HOS to add in more flexibiliy that's going to increase capacity. It's also going to mean the long waits, all the typical complaints, those will never go away because drivers can flex and those things can be swept under the rug same as with paper logs. They wanted this and I say now deal with the consequences. The customers need to put priority # 1 on becoming more efficient with time.
