Whatever happened to the guy who said there was a "secret" LS board? Only available by invitation, to the select few? Didn't you know that was the only way to get good loads?
Landstar is getting cheap.

Essentially it was the top tier brokered carriers they worked with that had a consistent trustworthy record, as in 100% no screwups no excuses, on some of their time critical bid freight. The freight was from a mega 3PL (edited: NLM - National Logistics Management) they had bought for a lot of money. This 3PL managed just about everything all the big automakers had with regards to expedited freight.
None of that freight got sold on the open spot market to random or unknown brokered carriers. The service levels and expectations were really high. Not making a check call about your arrival time 5 minutes before your pickup was a service failure. They were really picky. Several of us at Farm2Fleet made a lot of money off that freight.
You never heard of it because you were either one of their own contractors who knew nothing about it period or you didn't make the cut as an outside carrier. I'm sure there are plenty of carriers/drivers on Expediters Online forum that know exactly what I'm talking about. It's not made up truck stop counter talk it was real. I believe they sold the NLM to either Panther or XPO after only a year or so.Last edited: Jan 11, 2018
spyder7723 and Ruthless Thank this. -
NLM was sold to XPO. Artisan had the freight before NLM. Landstar had it before Artisan. When Landstar had GM freight we made huge money hauling racks. XPO is cheap as hang.
Dave_in_AZ and rollin coal Thank this. -
I know landstar cut the rate on Ford frames it's ridiculous.

Is there a secret hand shake to go with the secret board? Who do you contact? Or is the contact a secret too?
Is the freight that never hits the board also secret? -
RYX, BNA, AGS were some of the contacts. No secret handshakes but plenty of high dollar freight for outside carriers.
whoopNride Thanks this. -

It was years ago. Old news now.

I'm keeping my good agents a secret. They are easy to find though, cause all I do is dog food, and bottled water.
