I have a good shipper that wants me to drive their truck for 3 months. I will be paid a very good rate for putting my business on hold to help them.
I want to know has anyone "voluntary revoked" their operating authority later having it reinstated?

I've read just hold on to your authority for about 6 months to 1 year to look good when you start using it.

I think the word you’re looking for is “suspend”, not “revoke”.

The FMCSA allows you to deactivate/reactivate your authority. I'm sure a cursory search on their website will provide the means to do so.
NightWind, Oxbow, Broke Down 69 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Now before I get a flood of answers from everyone saying, yes you can or no thats not right, I'm looking for someone that has done this and has some insight on it.
I'm sure someone has done it. Maybe they were in the hospital for 3 months. Or they had to leave the business to tend to something else for a few months -

For just 3 months I would keep it active. Not worth the headache but that's just my opinion.
Tb0n3, Pedigreed Bulldog, Ruthless and 2 others Thank this.
