Had a friend that worked on that account. Biggest complaint was the DC loading practices. Numerous fallen pallets at numerous stops. Not always, but very common. Also when she was there they would use your truck on your days off. However she lived close. Usually only got 34 hrs off then back at it.
So I got a job offer.

Nice, thank you.Steel Dragon Thanks this.

1800-2000 miles of mountain driving per week is only going to get you frustrated and broke..Nothing I'd ever consider..ever.
Imo..you should keep looking. -
OTR experience and a $1 will get you a cup of coffee at the lunch counter and nothing else.
Still don't read what your problem is with Pepsi. -
How do you figure? Been running 1500 (give or take) per week for several years now...and I'm not frustrated or broke. What WOULD frustrate me is if I had to run 3000+ miles per week in order to avoid going broke.
There's more to life than miles.Paddlewagon Thanks this. -
Guys there have no problem making 60-65k a year with 2 actual days off a week. But hence you won't have the glorified OTR lifestyle.......
-
Totally agree more to it than just miles. Pushing to squeeze out every last mile is how accidents happen.
Then there is quality of life. Trucking is not a hobby to me, it's a job. I put in my 5 days then go home and do things I actually enjoy doing, spending time with family and such. -
Have to agree with MrEd. If you're going to drive these big trucks. Might as well go all out and go OTR fully because after a while staying regional or even local would get old fast. Well for single people anyway with no family life.
-
On that note, does anyone have ANY ideas for companies that are true OTR? @Chinatown @MrEd

I must be missing something in th OP..
He said Schneider..Are you running for them in a slow, low HP truck getting low cpm? Lol, I'm guessing you have a sweet gig and you're busting my chops.
Perhaps we can't compare what you do vs what the OP may do?
Again, and I apologize if I missed something.VantaiTatted Thanks this.
