I wonder if Cummins does the same thing? Mine are getting hard to read and since it's a '99 I don't want that being an issue. It's a metal tag though.

You lucky dog I've always wanted to get a truck with a 7CZ power plant in it. Is this engine in that W900 you just purchased?

I don't think he'd want any of our old stuff lol. I'm kinda attached to the Peterbilt so I can't trade that one just yet.

@Oxbow have you done any more work on your engine that you got back from the shop? Do you have it sanded and painted yet?

When I worked for Cummins we had a pile of blank plates and drive in rivets....we'd just stamp all the info onto the blank and put it on.

No, not yet. This is normally the beginning of our slow time of the year, but we still have two months of work in front of us. I want to get the truck that that engine came out of blasted and repainted before putting the engine and new transmission in, and was making arrangements to that end yesterday. First I need to find time to strip mirrors, air cleaners, fuel tanks, etc. off and haul it into the painters.
So..... that will be our spring project.

Sitting here in Maryland... casually putting some resume stuff together and waiting for 0330 tomorrow morning to roll around so I can go be a super trucker by the national mall.

@Ruthless I didn't see your post till this morning -- I don't recall both lanes being open. Just a single lane.

My ####### didn't realize the 287 was the TZB.... I've been that way before

Checking the truck over in the shop on Sunday I found a nail in the sidewall of a tire with less than 50k miles on it. Was still holding pressure until I pulled it out. New tire will be here this morning then off to pickup. image.jpg
