First off you better be in great physical condition they do a physical evaluation on a military level. You will spend 4 to 6 hrs at a physical therapy clinic lifting weights ,crawling across the floor ,climbing ladders on machine etc. They don't pay for transportation, oreintation ,motel or lunch. The first truck you're issued won't pass a DOT inspection. I spent 8 hours cleaning mine out to a livable condition it had a busted brake peddle 10 bald tires no brakes or clutch etc. Looked great from a distance though. You will spend 8 to 10 hours every other day at Central steel and wire in Chicago their biggest customer and one of only a handful they have. I say say run away you can do much better.
hallellujah Thanks this. -
Any up to date info on Tan Tara? Hows there orientation today? I am about to fill out an application for OD loads.

After 2 weeks training I said hell no. Half the loads we tarped in the freezing ### cold ended up sitting outside so tarping was a slap in the face. Pay is low. Miles were low. And to top it off I was given bad marks on my dac that I had to fight to have fixed.

I left TanTara after I was banned for life from Republic Steel in Canton, OH for trying to steal a load. They said it was a customer pickup and had to wait for hours for dispatch to get my anything close to the right pickup number. Then after getting in and preparing to get loaded I was told to leave because the driver who actually booked the load showed up and had the p/u and other correct info right away. Tantara's response? "Oh well, go to the truck stop and we'll get you something tomorrow." Ya, #### you too.
The truck I was in was pretty decent and I know they were getting a bunch of new and glider Coronado's, but the pay is low and while you do occasionally get good miles and it's a lot of midwest running they are up to some seriously shady stuff there. -
I see a lot of older reviews I want something that is newer than 2009. Anybody been to Tan Tara since 2016 or 2017 give a idea if they have changed or still the same as the 2009 reviews I have been hired and go to orientation in 2 weeks.
