I worked for sand box. When the patch was on, the money was great. I actually moved to Cotulla Texas so I could go home at night instead of sleeping in the man camp. The patch took a dump overnight and so did sand box. It was a pretty good gig while it lasted. But just like any other company that runs into problems. The first ones to get screwed is the drivers.

Exactly and the guarantee off 3,000 a month was just announced that is not a guarantee but how much you can possibly make. No pay for standby now no time sheets, only pay when and if you get a load. Yes they lie to get you in the door then change all the promises. If you have to take a day off that's not your regular day off, they take 98.00 out of your check

So the $3000 plus load pay on top of that is a lie?
I've been talking to them a month and supposed to be going to orientation tomorrow in Dilley.
They told me numerous times I wold make between $5000- $7000 and average out at $6000

I am not sure about the Dilley plant. Each is ran by different people and they pretty much do what they want. In Oklahoma City company drivers are not getting many loads as they are going to 3rd party drivers. Also it use to be if it was slow you would get 25.00 an HR to do things around the yard but now the guy running it says he will decide what he's going to pay you, he said it could be 50.00 for the day, 500 for the day or 5.00 for the day. I was also told there would be an extra 100 for working holidays, once again that didn't happen. When I turned in an hour sheet he threw it in the trash. Also I made a 6 hour run to deliver a trailer but there was no CAN number for it therefore I seriously doubt I get paid for that either. When you get your settlement email check your loads with your pay, I have gotten screwed a lot of times. You can't believe a word they say. Good luck

I also was told by a recruiter $3,000 a month guarantee plus load pay for South TX, or $4,000 a month guarantee plus load pay in West TX. They also said monthly total would range between $5,500 and $7,000. So, this guarantee is only if they have loads? Doesn't make sense to me if they offer a guarantee, whether they have loads or not is the point of a guarantee. So many negative posts on this company from people with one or two lifetime posts on the forum.

Now they are giving you 125 a day plus load pay if you ae lucky enough to get one with all the 3rd party drivers they cater to. If you sit on the yard for the 12 hrs it's 125 a day. Which amounts to 10.00 an hour. Then good luck with Houston payroll as the gal there can't ever seem to get the payroll right. I don't know what she's doing but by the time she takes 1/3 in federal tax and then deducts the other , here we have state, local, fica, s.s, and Medicare you have nothing left. This is a continuous problem with her lately. It's time they do some house cleaning. Also they need to stop hiring 3rd party drivers or just make it a 3rd party company.

Oh I want to add, I didn't get paid on time either and when I contacted Houston I was told they had ran out of money for drivers pay. I've had problems with my pay the last 3 times and I still haven't received an email stating my pay this time and now I don't think I will be paid again on time. The office help get theirs first

sounds to me like unhappydriver is just a very unhappy employee. Oilfield has always been a hit and miss roller coaster ride of a job. Sandbox offers a guarantee, and that is what it is a "guarantee". I know several guys over there and they all do very well for the job. Oilfield has always been a waiting game and it sounds like you just don't like the game. I just really hate to see people get on here and just bash the crap out of a company. Got a lot of new young guys who are very impressionable looking for a start somewhere in this industry. Everybody has to have a start somewhere.

If you’re looking for an entry level trucking job with horrible benefits and a total lack of value for it’s drivers then SandBox is the place to start off... But if you’re trying to maximize your earnings based of your experience and skills then you’d be better off transporting groceries as it pays more and benefits are way better.
