I wasn't happy when I got my truck and it was auto. Now I love it. My dad is frustrated with me now because I won't look at manual when I'm checking out trucks. He's convinced that I'd like a 13 speed better. But, seeing as how he won't be making the payments, I'll stick with what I've grown to love.

I wish I got paid what they are making now. I was at 25cpm when I went through. You probably were too. Those were some rough checks lol.Shock Therapy Thanks this.

It was the same things with sports cars when I was younger, now the autos are so good that you’ll get smoked by an auto.
They improve every year, no reason to hang on to the 90’s.Airmech, FalconsFan21, Shock Therapy and 2 others Thank this. -
Meh, when it comes to cars it's different for me. I refuse to drive an auto. Sadly, they are quickly disappearing.Airmech and Shock Therapy Thank this.

Lol, I’d have agreed with you 5 years ago.
Even the new Goldwing is an auto. Has me tempted after sitting in Yellowstone last year for 3 hours crawling on the harley because the Buffalo were out. That left hand gets tired.Shock Therapy Thanks this. -
Hahaha 25cpm?? I fn wish!!!! I got paid a flat rate of $71 a day, and if I didnt drive 4 hours minimum during the day.....we didnt get paid for the day! Thats exactly why I have no sympathy for trainees while during training. These guys are making really good $ to suck it up and concentrate on being a safe driver. Absolutely no need to hurry and get in a truck like in the past.Airmech, FalconsFan21, Shock Therapy and 2 others Thank this.

Ive Been thru basic and AIT and being on a trainers truck is nothing like it. Barracks are a hell of a lot bigger than this truck lol. However least while with a trainer you can call home every night, and you can get free time away from the trainer each nightAirmech, FalconsFan21 and Shock Therapy Thank this.

When did you go through school?

We were stacked 3 high in a small room. Felt more like a sweaty foot locker in South Carolina..

I know exactly what you mean. I had a day in my trainer's truck where I drove around Chicago in rush hour traffic. When the day was over, I could barely walk because my knee hurt so bad. God I hated that truck.Last edited: Jan 16, 2018
