While I do not drive for them, I can provide some info on their trucks;
Freightliner Century w/o fairings, 10spd tranny, Detroit 515HP diesel, 3.55 rears
Freightliner Cascadia
Lease guys get:
Freightliner Century
Kenworth T660
Peterbilt 387
Please feel free to add others.
HunterNo Name 38 Thanks this. -
Lease guys can have Cascadias also... I heard something about not ordering any more Kenworths, could be Petes instead
The inverter was already installed on my truck. From what I understand lease guys do not have to purchase the APU... after all they are paying for the fuel... Im pretty sure any inverter has to be installed by the company shop on any truck. -
U2 exit: Are you getting a fair amount of miles like the recurters are telling me the drivers are getting? I am supose to go to oraintation
on jan 6 th.. And am still nurvious about making the change.. I know it has slowed down but the recurter told me that prime has got some new accounts that is keeping them running -
Ive seen a slow down on miles, but Im not sure if Im just seeing the end of the year slow down or the economy... almost 3k last week and this week will be about 2700...
I will throw some numbers up... some people may laugh or trash talk... but these miles are all legal and these avgs include my first couple weeks when I was a little unsure of things.
9 days at home, all requested and honored... there are couple days here and there on the road Ive had off... but of those 9 I was not under dispatch.(ready to work)
Bear with me, Im pretty sure I set my spreadsheet up right...
17 weeks Each month is broken up into 4 week blocks.
Avg 2274 miles per week, 3168 best week, 702 worst (4 days at home) Total 38659 miles. Best month for miles was Aug followed by Nov and both were months I stayed out on the road.
Avg 2.05 cents/mile fuel bonus. Total of $822.69 made with fuel bonus alone. Almost always run at 58mph.
little over $13k total... almost $10k after taxes and benifit deductions (2 tier medical and I took the more expensive better coverage one).
I got my raise when I hit 20k solo miles from .30 to .34... about a little over 21k right now till my next raise of .005.
7 "Time at home days" not used yet...
So the past 2 weeks have not been the best weeks Ive had but they are better than avg over the last 17 weeks
One last thing, it also depends on the loads. It was shaping up to be a crappy week of short hauls... day to day and a halfers... then I got a 1300 mile trip. short ones can eat up your clock or spend time sitting waiting for appointments.Baack Thanks this. -
For me: .34/mile = (per diem pay + mileage pay)/miles
That way I keep more of my money now, rather than claiming the per diem at the end of the year and getting that money back at once in my tax refund. -
thanks for the info.... hope the miles keep rolling for you.....

Nothing is free when you are leasing a truck except the person that is driving the truck because alot of people that lease from the same place they get their freight from will only have enough to cover the fuel and truck payments. -
I didnt say it was free... What I was saying is, they dont have to get an APU, and yes, if they do, their lease payment is more.
My trainer initially didnt have one, and he would have to idle his truck for heat or AC.
He eventually had one installed...
It is free on a company truck. You can talk down all you want about the lease program, and yes there are probably better programs out there with other companies. But from the people I know personally, not on some message board, they say they did extremly well earlier this year and are doing ok now given the state of the economy.
