Low power only on the high side of the transmission,blows black smoke under load and initially when you turn the jakes on. Checked charge cooler,recent egr andthrottle valve,new boost sensor,delta p eliminated.checked for bibles in fuel return line just can’t figure it out..it also surges when climbing a grade at times.

Need to run a turbo hysteris (that is correct spelling) test with DDDL on a laptop. Sounds like vanes in turbo stuck. Happens often on these engines.

injectors are also a known, on going issue. I take it that you have DDDL? If so, using injector cut out test, run engine on one cylinder (cut out other 5) at a time. Engine should run, albeit ####ty, on one cylinder at a time. If it does not, you have found your faulty injector(s)

Truck has been sitting. My DDDL is not working. On J pro cut them ot individually and two seem weak. I am a rookie at this. Does have two codes now.

Bad EGR valve explains your original post. VGT code is related to EGR code. Don't trust Jpro though. Need DDDL 7.0 or higher to test and verify.
