I didn't think an "anti-depressant" would hurt your chances to drive???
-
Yeah I'm calling my doctor in the morning. I'm sure he will give me the clearance.

My advice is quit using terms like "psych ward" when describing you went inpatient once. Prozac is no biggie. It is prescribed to people who feel like they can't get off the couch. Doesn't mean you are dangerous.
TravR1 Thanks this. -
Question: When they do your DOT physical I know that they check for hernias and stuff...do they also check for testicular cancer and stuff like that? Anyone know?
-
A lot of those bottles have "do not operate a motor vehicle while using." And if anything happens, and you stop using, like a trucker that can't get a refill because he's out in the middle of nowhere, the side effects of not easing off can be impairing.

You fill out a form that asks if you have ever had cancer and a list of other diseases.
The only time you show your nuts is for the hernia test and that takes about 2 seconds. -

Depends on what the first examiner put in the database about this physical, if any. The FMCSA national registry of medical examiners has a system in it to cull out (doctor shopping). If you get an exam the examiner should place the results of that exam in the system. If for some reason you don't (pass) this exam and the examiner places the exam in the system YOU MUST disclose this first exam to the 2nd examiner. The FMCSA will actually pull the paperwork and look at it if they have a question. In fact if the 2nd examiner desires they can get this first exam paperwork (for these purposes they are NOT covered by the health care privacy laws). Some examiners put this info into the system and some don't. If it is discovered later by the FMCSA you doctore shopped they will void out that 2nd exam. This article is from 2014 but it covers most this. It is mostly about sleep apnea, but the concepts apply to all aspects of going to a 2nd examiner.
