It is pretty simple and I do it only to preserve hours on 70 hr clock . Every time I arrive at shipper or consignee I go to sleeper. Then when I'm ready to roll I go back and edit logs to show on duty at the end of time at that location. No matter how long it takes to load or tarp I only log a certain amount of time. I have a number I use for loading and one I use for unload. It's more of a percentage of actual time spent. I don't turn in logs that say every load and unload took 30 minutes. I can always save 5 to 10 hours a week on my 70. Some times this helps pick up an 8/2 split. Which elogs are great for they take away any confusion it will just show available drive time if its there. Also remember no more 15 minute blocks everything is real time, 10 min pre and post trips will save an hour a week alone

Nope. You will drive no matter what . You are told to go here or there . They give you a penny for detention. We O/O pick and choose our areas, rates, times to drive because we care of our safety, of our business , of our families , of the rest of drivers on the road. We have discipline ....... obviously you don’t , because someone has to give you orders. That is the difference .HopeOverMope Thanks this.

Yes
I really need your guidance.
Would you be willing to sit down with me and help me with all my poor capabilities and short Cummings ?
Let’s start with where I am now.
I’m 55 years old and have been in the trucking business along with a half a dozen other business since 1983.
At this point I am semi retired by choice and as I write this I am sitting in Florida with my wife at my second home in the Sarasota area.
I will be here for the next 3 months while my son runs the businesses back in NY.
Everything I own including my three houses and businesses are completely debt free and paid for.
Without going to deep in to finances I can tell you I have a net worth in the millions.
So this is my sad state of affairs.
When would be a good time to sit down with you so you could bestow your great knowledge on me and show me what I’m doing wrong?HopeOverMope, mladen86 and gokiddogo Thank this. -
Independents? Clarify what is “independent “ for you. And those big companies have people like you working for them ..... didn’t you realized that ? Sheeps !!!scottied67 Thanks this.

Those edits never show up because they occur before I hit the approve all button and actually submit my log to permanent record. Same as paper in that sense no one knows what's on them till you approve it. Elogs exist to prove when the truck is moving period.nightgunner Thanks this.

Where they are going to get people is when they claim line 1 driving outside of the 14 hour window.... that's where the questions will be asked.... so all of this "just use pc to move to the dock" is where they will hammer us...
Really the only way to move is to do it under 5 mph. Then it doesn't force you to show it on any line. Which is pretty much useless.scottied67 Thanks this. -
I don't care. Your the one whining about not being able to follow the law, not me.

Thanks! He must have read my post with an offer to Beta test. I'm all over that.

If I take that class, I want to sit between the FMCSA director who has never driven a truck, and the head of the DOT who doesn’t know a brake chamber from an air bag. I would be a sponge soaking up the wealth of knowledge they put forth.Pedigreed Bulldog, StrokerTSi, chimbotano and 2 others Thank this.
