Nothing like sitting in Albany. It’s like the black hole. Once you get in it’s hard to get out. I guess the winter storms have everything shut down. Hope everyone is safe.

Albany has always been a bit of a black hole once you get there, especially on a weekend.

As far as weather, If they even hear the word snowflake the whole state goes into a tizzy, enters the fetal position and hides in a dark corner until it is over.

I mean think about the type of driving you see around Atlanta on a good day. Very reckless and haphazard. Most would slit their mother's throat to get one car further up in the line of backed up traffic even though it really accomplishes nothing. All the constant lane changing just makes it worse. Sorry I got off on a rant. I'm not a fan of Atlanta.

Very true. Usually nice and quiet there.

Good training day. Ran the Millis 500 for an hour this morning, then spent 2 hours out on the road.
Pretrip tomorrow and coupling, looking forward to learning that phase.
Met one of the mechanics today, he’s the exact reason I left service management after 22 years.
Needless to say, his chip is large..

Wassup y'all. Greetings from Oak Creek WI. Tonight, I'll be spending the night in the parking lot of a Kenworth shop. I had a B service done on my truck yesterday at Trenton and they discovered oil in my power steering reservoir. They assumed it was the pump, so they replaced it. I picked up a load at the drop lot and had to go back to the shop because there was an issue with the trailer. They then discovered more oil in the reservoir and determined it was the compressor. Opie switched my load with a load going to the Milwaukee Miller plant and then sent me here. I may very well have to give up this truck. I'll know shortly. If they can get the parts in the morning, I'm good to go. If they have to order parts, they won't arrive until Monday. In which case they'll probably give me another truck. I have been fearing this situation. If I end up in one of the new trucks I'm gonna be a very sad trucker. My fingers are crossed. No matter what happens, I'm not going anywhere tonight. I wandered down the road to grab a hot meal and the first beer I've had in weeks. I am preparing to mourn. I will truly feel a loss if I get taken out of that truck. That's my mistress, my baby. And she's been mine for over a year. We've been through a lot together. I was hoping I'd have her until I bought my own. Today was a weird day, but a good one. I think that it's hilarious and ironic that once I finally got all the brewery lots up here figured out, I won't need that knowledge for much longer. I am still enjoying that accomplishment though, because that place is a friggin maze. Looking back, I am now treasuring the memory of my first trip there. I must have looked like a complete moron. Lost and green as hell. I am appreciating the battle scars. I'll need the calluses from those experiences. One thing I've noticed about the drivers here at Millis, at least the ones who have been here a while. They are very mentally tough and I feel like I'm a very different person from being around them and going through these runs. I wouldn't go back to my old life if you offered me a mountain of cash. Screw that. If you are reading this thread as someone looking for information on Millis, this will be the best thing you'll hear from me. And there are many good things that I'll fill your ear with, but this one matters to me the most. It has changed me as a person and I love it. I am unrecognizable from the person I was when I started this journey. I'll never be able to repay Millis for such an intangible thing. It's worth more to me than my CDL. They rebuilt me, and that was long overdue. I recognize that I'm rambling so I'll sign off. Hope you guys are doing well tonight. Be safe and stay warm. Keep the rubber down and check your pins. Goodnight y'all. Until tomorrow, peace.

I'll keep my fingers crossed parts are there and quick to put on and you're back on the road. I've only been in this truck a short time but I know just what you mean. It sounds weird but you become a team, you each rely on the other to take care of one another. You know the sounds, the pull, and the quirks that make it an individual.

I'm gonna miss this one when they take it away from me, she's treated me well and she runs like a raped ape.

What you're describing is a skill that not everyone possesses. Being able to talk to your ride and listen to her when she talks is something that can't be taught. I got it from my dad, clearly you inherited it from someone. It'll never let you down. Nor will your truck.

Why is communication in this fn industry so god #### hard sometimes??? So many frustrations could be emininated just by communication and a little common fn courtesy. As for common courtesy, heres a tip....if you are switching loads with another driver so that driver can get home, take your fn 10hr break and get your ### on the road you shouldnt be having to be woke up by dispatch! Ok rant over for now

The parts will be here shortly and I'm keeping my baby :) Well, as long as there are no unforseen hiccups. Life is good.
