Bunny at Celadon!!!!

Well, usually I try to reply to each and everyone seperately but I'm not going to do that tonight...Reason being is because I'm just plain tired of all the negative posts about Celadon...People quiting because they can't handle the slow season and other people talking trash when they don't even work here...I happen to have a very good DM that tries his best to keep me in the areas where there is freight and out of the areas where freight is slow..I also am happy to continue my employement here as long as I can..Have a nice night..

 

I am so glad things have calmed down in here...I was losing my faith and wondering if I was just gonna have to disappear from this thread...Well, I have a few updates of my own to post now...

Things have been kinda slow the past couple of weeks but as always I have faith in myself, my company and the economy...Things will pick up soon..As for the crazy non-sense out here on the road well, that continues..Today I had to yell at another Celadon driver on the CB because he was acting like a total fool and making comments about other companies that were very inappropiate..I can't stand that..He was just starting trouble...Imagine that..Also get this, I got wrote up!!!! Unbelievable but true..I don't agree with it but hey there's a first time for everything..Here's the deal..I was in East St.Louis Il and had to go to Melrose Park Il..When I sent in my macro for the remaining miles to the final, it said it couldn't process it so I sent in a free form and asked for the mileage..But when I did that instead of putting Melrose Park Il, I only put Melrose...Well the mileage that was shot back to me from the night dm was 153 miles when in reality it was 286..Needless to say I was late for my delivery and got wrote up...When I tried to argue the fact,I was told by my Mon thru Thur DM that they get too busy in there to think sometimes..The point I was trying to make was this...The person that shot me the wrong mileage knew where I was going and could have taken an extra minute out to think "maybe Bunny meant Melrose Park,let me send her that mileage." But it didn't happen that way and I got wrote up for the first time...Now I wonder what would happen if a driver were to make a mistake with one of our loads that have like 25 or more pages of bills and then just say "oh well, I got too busy to think or use my common sense"...Not cool huh? Oh well...Personally I think that's a mistake alot of people make these days...Hardly anyone uses common sense anymore..And God forbid anyone wants to share the blame..Everyone wants to just pass it on down the line to the next person..Anyway, stuff like that bothers me but I have learned to deal with it the best way I know how..As far as the DM that wrote me up, well, he's not such a bad person, he was just doing his job I guess..Later on that afternoon, I had an ugly altercation at my next pick up location and when I called him he actually sounded concerned for my well being..But onto bigger and better news..I AM GOING TO LAS VEGAS FOR NEW YEARS!!!!!!! Granted yes I have been there before but this trip is different..I'm going with my best friend from Canada and we are staying for a whole week..We've got so many plans and things to see there..I think it's going to be great..And we made a pact...NO MEN!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Girls vacation only...Well, I don't have to worry about any man showing up because I'm single but her boyfriend likes to be up her u-no-what all the time...She told him tho that this is a girl thing...If he shows up she said she'll use him for, well we all know for what, then show him the open road again! How funny is that!!!!

On a lighter note I WISH EVERYONE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS..Drivers I hope each and everyone of you make it home safely to your families for the holidays..There's nothing like a good home cooked meal on Christmas..And I hope that all your wishes and dreams for the next year come true..

Well, it's just another day in paradise...I am stuck in Arkansas with no load...Guess we have more trucks then what we really need here..I remember when I started this thread I promised myself I would be true to all the drivers that read it..I would post the good and the bad about Celadon..Not all the time is evrything good or bad...There's always an in between..Right now I am very frustrated with what's going on over here and probably at alot of companies right now..No freight to move is a dangerous thing in our line of work..Us as drivers rely on the company to keep customers in our database so we can keep rolling to put bread on the table for our families at home..We as the driver have to keep a smile on our face when we face a customer to keep them in our good spirits so they keep our company rolling..My reason for posting this is because I talked to my other DM today and he informed me that the altercation I had at the customer day before yesterday was not "serious"..Now this is from the customer not Celadon..Now I was cussed at and belittled in front of a repair guy by the yard jockey driver at 1 of our customers..Now I'm not talking just a sentence..I'm talking to profane to post here on this site...And the only thing I had said to the yard guy was this "you have to move hun so my repair guy can park here to repair the trlr.." That's what started it..He came back around to my truck, cussed me in a very foul profane manner stating that I had told him to "move the h*** out of the way"..By no means did this happen that way..Well, no offense to the colored race but the yard guy and the repair guy were both african american and when it came down to it they stuck together and said I had started it..Go figure..The repair guy wasn't even there when I had spoke to the yard guy about him moving..Once again I guess I was in the wrong..I have no idea if I'm trouble for this now too..I am starting to think people have it out for me now..I also found out that several people from Celadon have been reading my posts here and they really like them..I appreciate that..And in return I really appreciate the hard work they do in that office...BUT....Sometimes I wonder where the driver stands in this company...
