Our rate is the same in RFL as I believe it is company wide. They don't let you work the dock after your route or you just choose not to? Because full timers have option over anyone part time. I see 3 or 4 city guys working the dock nightly. I wouldn't want to do that either though, they're a little to money obsessed.

How is the city overall in Phoenix? Guys here are miserable. I have given the thought to transfer there but would hate to start from scratch again.

i don't actually work out of Phoenix (i was thinking of transferring there though), so i can't say. The confusion may have been that i have a friend in Phoenix that is seeking a local gig.

My hunch is that it is decent based on the few times i have been to Phoenix----not too many tight areas, not too much traffic congestion etc. ?

    P.S.
Maybe hang around 5pm-ish and after in the parking lot and ask a few drivers how it is...........?

    P.P.S.
Look at the cars in the employee parking lot: This should indicate quite a bit about how good the job is: Cadillac, Lincoln, BWM, Mercedeses = pretty good. New cars in general, even if "only" honda, chevy etc. = still pretty good.

Oh okay, good info anyways. I live in Ohio now, I'm going out to Phoenix in March partially for vacation and partially to look around at potential real estate and a job. Maybe I will call and see if I can talk to the TM or Assistant TM.

Then there are the people driving beaters who will retire millionaires. The parking lot runs the gamut at my place, but most of the "fancy cars" are those crazy pickup trucks that cost more than most Beemers.

Or you could just build yourself a custom-built Ford Excursion with a 5.9 Cummins engine.
