Schneider, but you guys know this.

Roger, this is 2018......my phone knows where I'm at within inches of where I actually am. They could have outfitted these trailers with very low cost GPS systems that use virtually no power at all, (read solar), and been done with it years ago. Bur they chose not to for their own reasons.

 

I drove for Schneider for just over a year before going local. I had a great experience with them but there are some fair points being brought up. The empty trailer search can be a pain even with gps and trailer tracking. It didn’t happen a lot but it did happen and it was really frustrating.
As for the parksmart. Get it looked at and tell your dbl that it needs to be fixed. It should run at least 10 hours and keep the sleeper warm. I had 2 trucks with it and it would keep the truck nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. You might need new batteries or there is a charging issue. My first truck was an older one and needed the parksmart batteries replaced because it would cut out after about 30 mins. Some shops at the operating centers are better than others. I always had good luck with Charlotte, Indy, West Memphis and Carlisle. Atlanta on the other hand always managed to mess something up.
Schneider was good to me and I experienced a lot of the same stuff you’re experiencing. You gotta do what’s right for you, even if that means finding another carrier. Good luck to you Driver, and be safe out there
