I think they had about 10 at the terminal I was out of years ago. Yep, different terminal would be the way to go, but I understand about the wait for a truck at a new one. Which terminal are you out of? I was out of Neenah. Don't even know if that one is still there.
Maybe Swift is bad because of their DRIVERS

I am out of Inver Grove Heights in Minnesota. Edwardsville KS is just a little bit farther from where I live. I think it's crazy for there to be that long of a wait for trucks. They should not be hiring if they do not have the trucks in my opinion.
-
A few of the big outfits do that because they expect to have people leaving. Check around with some of the local outfits when you have the time, and find out what their experience requirements are. Never hurts to check, and you may just find that gem of a job.Behindthewheel Thanks this.

Thanks for the tip. I will definitally be checking some of the other companies that are out of Iowa. I may go to Hy-Vee and talk with them anyway to see if I could still get hired with half the required experience. Never hurts to find out!

Also, the trucks are no longer terminal specific. That is according to the terminal manager here in Albuquerque. They were talking of sending drivers to different terminals to pick up trucks but I meant getting a new DM.
-
I know what you mean now. Overall though getting a new DM would not fix things I do not think. Of course I could be wrong. I was told from Phoenix today that the truck is property of the MN terminal so it just goes back to one terminal doing things differently than another.

That happened pre cdl days. I was doing landsacping and was using another persons trailer. It had 2X8's on the side area so I thought it should not of came off plus I pot it in the middle of the bed. If I could I would put a drawing of the trailer. They modified the trailer to haul cars on.

What about the Crete driver a couple of yrs back that was driving out of hrs and slammed in the back of a family killing all in the car that was stopped behind a school bus in Fl. Seems to me he went to prison for 7yrs. Im a swift driver and yes some don't make the right decisions. I drove a daycab for 6yrs through the Smokies in Tn and got laid off so I had to take the first job available. So me working for Swift automatically makes me a bad driver?

If you want to see alot of truck screwups. Go to youtube and pull up semi truck accidents. There are alot more companies with videos of rollovers and crashes than swift
