Yes sir, you are funny. Thank you!
Just because you are "just now hearing it" doesn't mean it did not exist prior. Again, this is motivation not crying. Perhaps if you shift your positional view a little, you can see things from a different vantage point.

Read the actual article I linked. It's a macroeconomic problem. And the rest of the world DOESN'T see us as the global 1% anymore. That's what's been happening in the rest of the world over the last 30 years... Billions of people have been steadily marching out of poverty, their ascension paid for by American Consumers buying cheap foreign goods (cheap mostly because of the dollar being very strong and their countries being largely unregulated in terms of labor practices).
And now the value of the dollar is falling. Probably because the American people aren't willing to pay for someone else to do the work for them anymore. You see this with things like the next generation loving 'artisan' this and 'local' that. Suddenly everyone has rediscovered that they care about service AND quality AND cost...
I know a lot of you look down your noses at the entitled millennials and their avocado toast... But honestly we have it way worse as a generation than anyone since the 'Greatest Generation'.
All of this talk about 'liberal' and 'conservative' is just noise. Neither party wants to change anything as they are both the beneficiaries of how things are now. But whether they like it or not the world is changing... And the people in this country are so ready for change that they elected Donald Trump directly after electing a black guy. Like how much clearer of a signal does DC need?
They can change or someone is going to start a 'pro-reality' party and ruin their day completely.TallJoe, gentleroger and 48Packard Thank this. -
That post smoked all the commies out of the woodwork , ha , the wealth gap grew under Barry O , I never heard him taking the blame or assuming responsibility ,
free market capitalism has brought more people out of poverty then any socialist dreamer could imagine ,
now we will get to see it work in America again , who cares if the rich get richer ,
I’m only concerned with my earnings growing7-UP Thanks this. -
Not even remotely true. This is an issue that has been under discussion for many years. And, despite your myopic perception, not everything is about the US and whomever is occupying the White House.TallJoe Thanks this.

You lost any credibility you may have had when you said "NOW the dollar is losing value". The dollar has been steadily losing value the last several decades. It's not doing anything this past year it hasn't been doing for a very long time.
-
That's inflation. The fact that you don't actually understand what I mean when I say 'the dollar is losing value' in the context of trade proves that you really aren't qualified to have an opinion about any of this.
This stuff isn't the great unknown. People have spent their whole lives studying it. You can read about it all over the place. Google is a powerful tool and Khan Academy exists. The world would be a better place if people who couldn't be bothered to be informed weren't allowed to vote. Yes that absolutely means you.
EDIT: In fact the founders were so afraid of people like you they built all sorts of anti-democratic measures into our government from the get-go. People like you are why pure democracy doesn't work.
Also I get that you don't understand that Donald Trump is massively for pushing the value of the dollar down (relative to other global currencies). When the value of your currency decreases your goods become cheaper in other countries and their goods become more expensive in yours. When we call China a currency manipulator (true in the 90's through early 2000's they removed their currency peg years back because they were turning a corner in their development and wanted to create domestic consumption) it's because they were keeping their currency artificially cheap vs the dollar to make their exports more competitive.
See this is the biggest difference between you and I. We want the same things, but I've been out there trying to learn how the world works with open eyes... and you've been watching fox news and listening to talk radio. You get your viewpoints and beliefs from entertaining fiction and I get mine from thinking about everything everyone is saying and trying to puzzle out who is right.
It's totally OK to be ignorant and not care about stuff. It's not OK to assume that you're right about everything when you haven't done any research. That's a super dangerous way to live bud. Being delusional can and eventually will ruin your life.
CLIFFS: I'm not even all that liberal dude. We're on the same side and want the same things mostly. Not all the smart people are leftists. I'm a slightly right of center guy. A centrist sure, but I want to make the federal government MUCH smaller just like you.Last edited: Jan 25, 2018

You guys want to hear something optimistic? I read somewhere that if you are net worth $2000 you are in the richer half of the globe population.
As for USD it fluctuates in relation to other currencies. For instance in 2007 1 USD was 2 PLN (my country of origin currency) a year ago 4.15 PLN now 3.30 PLN and is dropping like rock.Good thing I sold some USD few months ago so I can afford to go on vacation but I still expect USD to go further down this year. Then in a year or two we will have crisis and USD will shot up again.Mark my words!
I hope that coming crisis will make me loaded and I be able to retire before age of 50. Don't need much 1-2 million USD and I am done with working.
One more thing, being heavily invested in stocks I don't care about "social impact" all I want from a company is to maximize MY return at all cost regardless "social impact".Last edited: Jan 25, 2018

It is a reflection of world wide over population. A lot of the poorest countries have the highest birth rates and due to meddling by compassionate entities, introducing better medicine that helped to increase the likely hood of survival of a young child on landscape that cannot support the lively hood of the people.
The poor in these regions are not getting poorer, they are dividing limited resources into a larger number of bodies with no means to support themselves.diesel drinker Thanks this. -
Didn’t the tea partiers protest the 1 percent at the beginning of his Presidency and then they all voted for a one percenter to be their President a few years later.mjd4277 Thanks this.

We've demonstrated in thousands of places that the poor stop being poor when you bring them a way to be productive. In most 'poor' parts of the world terrible government policies have made people poor.
The natural state of humans is productive and hard working. Giving goods free of charge to these countries is poison not charity. What would happen to all of you if Poland started sending over truckers willing to work for free? That's essentially what happens when you start sending bulk flour to a foreign country. The local food businesses that have to compete with free get pushed out of business almost instantly. The ranks of the unemployed grow and the poverty gets deeper.
This is why I said #### Oxfam earlier. These people treat the poor like a social class that 'must be helped' rather than a social problem we could solve. People need jobs to stop being poor. This is what gives lie to the leftist portrayal of the evil industrialist abusing his/her employees. In real life the capitalists are the heroes of the story of industrialization and slowly morph into villains as they get more established and capture the government.
EDIT: You want to help Africa? Buy something from Africa. Seriously. That money pays for someone to have a job. Similarly if you're feeling patriotic go buy some American made stuff.
SECOND EDIT: We've also demonstrated all over the world that the live birth rate per female stabilizes somewhere in the 1.8-2.1 range once a country stops being poor. This is because children go from being an investment (my kids will take care of me when I'm old! I'd better have 8 of them so that hopefully 4 will survive!) to being a luxury product (I seriously hope the baby boomers don't think their kids are going to take care of them when they are old lol). This means that the fastest way to lowering the rate at which the human population grows is to reduce poverty. It's almost like poverty is some kind of cancerous growth that tries to grow itself...Last edited: Jan 25, 2018
