Almost Robbed?

Looks like its one of those recievers that doesnt have their own lumping service. You either do it yourself or find someone to do it. US growers in Los Angeles area is like that. The street is swarming with people wanting to unload your trailer for you.

 

Dont know the whole situation or where he was at. He mightve been trying that he mightve been legit. Only give checks with express codes to the receivers/lumper service. When you check in the receiving office will teol you where to go to see the lumper service if they have one. Most places do have a luming service on site if they dont do it themselves.

 

The guy was an under the table lumper.

He was trying to find out if the driver had gotten a quote for lumping services and if his company had approved it yet.

If so, this is what he was proposing:

Driver got a $300 quote for lumping from the receiver with the option he could lump it himself.

Driver then went back to truck and sent in a lumper service request to his company requesting a $300 lumper service payment code via EFS, COMDATA or however his company pays.

The guy who approached him was offering to do it for $200 and to then give the driver back $100 in cash for allowing him to do it instead of the inside lumpers. He even agreed to give the driver a receipt matching the the $300.

The driver didn't understand what the guy was offering, at least that's how it seemed.

 

You know unless YOU the driver is paying OUT OF YOUR POCKET it is best to simply go inside and arrange payment with the lumping service there. The company is paying for it anyway. As to getting kick backs just know that it might be illegal and you do have to turn in receipts later.

 

With all due respect if is and are confuses you I suggest you not get too involved in these boards. Because a huge amount of posts have misspellings and major grammar errors and you will never understand them. Honestly there are some posts I have to read and re read many times and still read them again and see something. I am not trying to be combative or funny. It is the honest truth.

 

I am not a thin skinned person. Trust me you can't be and stay sane as an active person on these boards. I caught your meaning and I did laugh at it. However it has been my experience that most humor has a basis in fact. It was this I was reacting too. Im not angry.
