I have 80 acers and it is an old junkyard. One building is 50'by 125' LOL but i am not going to put it in there, but if i was to take a vacation or leave the truck for an extended period of time it is a nice option for security. OH YEA... my 145lb rot will chew your leg off before you get the truck started too![]()

You know the only bad things I have heard about TMC have come from people who were fired or left on their own. Most of the ones that left own their own seem to make a lot of post gripping and complaining about everything and anything. Eveyone I have seen make a post that still works for them seem happy, even a lot of people who have left still like them. Hmmmm? I think I will be happy there. I like a good structured company that has set rules and expects people to follow their rules. I guess it's the exmilitary in me. Also I get very irritated when a company isn't organized and can't give you a straight answer, so far TMC has answered every question I had and if the recruiter didn't know the answer he said he would find out for me instead of just making something up.
I tried to PM the Truckdrivers wife but the rules say I have to have 50 or more post first and since this is my first day I can't see that happening. Anyway I just tell her on her. Just wanted to say Glad to meet a fellow Texan and maybe your husband can pm me if he finds time so I can find out about driving her in Texas, we might even have the same FM once I start with them, which is the 29th this month. -
Good luck to ya. Where in Texas are you from? I'm just north of Austin. -
TMC is one of the best and it is a bad time of year right now. If you cant get on with TMC try maverick, roehl, melton. They are pretty good just not as nice of trucks......well maverick has nice stuff -
13MWZ, I'm just south of Longview Texas. That may not help much. If you look on a road map follow I-20 to Marshall Texas, just west of the state line, take Hwy59 south and we are the next town. I come through your area a lot heading to Austin and SanAntonio, the kids love Sea world and me and the wife hit the riverwalk.
Don't give up on TMC. I really bugged my recruiter calling him almost everyday to check on my paperwork statis. He never seemed to mind and was always very friendly and helpful. Glad to meet you and I hope to see ya driving with them soon. -
It's now March 2010. I was just wondering if TMC's reputation for taking care of their drivers and their trucks is still holding up. Also, TMC drivers (and only TMC drivers answer this question please): What are you averaging in miles per week?
Had a recruiter come to my CDL school today. I was shocked by the health insurance numbers I was given (80/20, Max 4K out of pocket, up to 1 Million in coverage, and 1000 deductible (for family)), as well as the dental and eyes. I also liked what I heard about how they match you up with a trainer (based on interests)).
What would be a realistic/conservative net pay (pay after taxes) per week for a new driver through the first year with TMC? -
I am considering TMC also. If you have already been hired by them please let me know how it is. I dont start my CDL training for another week, and then its a 3 week course. Good luck with TMC and keep me posted with email (subject: TMC ). thanks and be safe out there.

I am applying at TMC right now..I was driving around Des Moines today on some errands and couldn't believe how amazing their trucks looked. I am former military, so I don't mind the strictness. If it was my money invested in those trucks and facilities, I'd be the same way.
Does anyone who's started with them recently know how long the process takes from application to prehire to hire to orientation? I'd like to start soon. I graduated driving school from Iowa Central Comm. College in November 2009 and did a couple months for a local cooperative hauling dry bulk fertilizer. I have 6 months of experience when you add up schooling and seasonal driving around Iowa.
My son lives in Utah with his mother, how often do they get runs out that way?
