I'll keep my eyes open for them. My issue is that I hate going to the city everyday and line haul is usually a night gig.
Job hopping...let my experience be an example

Nothing wrong with a night gig, for me anyway. One thing I've been told about being a new, line-haul driver is that you'll get bounced around between the night and day shift. Too much vitamin D exposure for me!!

How to lie maybe LOL

If the two of you keep it up, this thread will be locked also. That is enough of the bickering.

I currently work as a retail clerk. This coming April will be 11 years that I will have been at the job. This is the 9th. job that I have had since being in the workforce for 44 years, (since 1974).
I too had been somewhat of a job hopper. It really isn't anything to be proud of. The job that I am currently in will be the longest one that I have ever held onto. Currently, I am 61, will turn 62 this year.
I currently still hold onto the dream of eventually going to a truck driving school to learn how to drive a truck. I really would like to have already been driving OTR to all 48 states and Canada.
I would really liked to have driven for either one of these 2 companies:
1) Tyson Foods out of Springdale Arkansas
2) CFI out of Joplin Missouri
If I were able to get onto a trucking fleet, I would want to retire out of the company that I would have started out at.
What has held me back from being able to become a truck driver is NOT being able to pass a D.O.T. physical. No truck driving school will admit me without passing the D.O.T. physical.
I am still working very hard to overcome this situation and to be able to actually pass the D.O.T. physical.
I have never married and never had any children.
FORTUNATELY & THANKFULLY, I do NOT have any child support payments to worry about.
I live in an apartment that I can leave from for extended periods of time.
I would actually make sure that rent was paid in advance until it was time to sign another lease.
SADLY & UNFORTUNATELY, both of my parents passed away long ago.
I no longer have parental eldercare responsibilities to worry about.
I have 2 sisters with really good families of their own on the east coast.
FORTUNATELY & THANKFULLY, their home mortgages have been fully paid off, along with all their property taxes paid in full.
FORTUNATELY & THANKFULLY, my 2 sisters and their families have good homes to live in for many good years to come.
I would NOT have any problems being out on the road for weeks at a time.
I would only have to go back home a few times a year just to be sure bills are paid, taxes are filed, license and car registration was renewed, and that necessary medical appointments were kept.
This year is 11 years that I have not had any tickets or citations at all.
Also, this year will be 4 years that I have not been in any accidents at all. I had a total of 4 accidents in my life:
1) at fault accident in 1995
2) no fault accident in 1997
3) no fault accident in 2010
4) no fault accident in 2014
I TRULY & GENUINELY wish a every truck driver a safe journey out on the roads and highways.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!Last edited: Feb 7, 2018
