What to pay my driver

    Got a driver that I have taking a load 3800 miles what should I pay him?

    Forgot to add it's my truck, he's just driving the load for me.

    If you didn’t work that out before he started driving, pay him 13 cents a mile. It’s the going rate for morons.

    No, he hasn't started but we're going back and forth on this and I know my number is fair, just wanted some back up before I move on to find someone else

    Are you expecting a get it there at all costs, log book and sleep be ###### driver or is this a run it legal load?

    Run it legal, paid on the books not 1099, should pay a fair weeks wage since it will take a full week to run out and back. I say at least $1,500 for an average driver, assuming this is just dry box and not specialized.

    Outlaw running, double that number and good luck.

    If you are paying tolls and fuel the normal rate is 35% to 40% of the load.
