what is wrong with this one, looks quite close to my tasteOxbow Thanks this.

They wouldn't be that bad looking if they weren't so tall. Knock about 2ft off the top of the cab and get rid of the plastic bumper and skirts and it'd look pretty decent IMO.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
it is nearly 154ft 10inch high, so there must be air deflector over already highest cab.
steel bumper is ugly on this model, side skirts are ok.
-i hate stainless steel so i would replace top light bracket with alu. one
-front end should be replaced with r2 or streamline
-scania letters should be painted, bright is for gypsies
-all blue lights replaced with yellow or white
-missing wheel nut cover
-lightbox above winshield have to be either removed or company name applied inside
-long rotation beacon should be removed from roof
-slight moddification in color but in general it is okLast edited: Jan 30, 2018

I don’t get why a truck pulling a draw bar trailer is more economical/convenient than a tractor pulling a 5th wheel trailer.....
-
you mean on scania from your photo?
this combination was about 80% comparing to 20% semi back in years here.
become quite rare in europe in recent years 10 vs 90%
reasons:
-price about 15000€ eur
-empty weight
-require better driver
-use more fuel due to air drag between truck and trailer
-maintenance is more difficult (cant access some parts easy)
-interchangability
-there is generally more work for driver while loading/unloading
-full load lengths
reasons for:
-more loading space
-can drive sepparatly
-can access places where semi cant
-more comfortable to drive no bumps, once you are familiar with you dont need mirrors
windows logistics in germany is very often done with bdf containers, you left trailer at entrance of street and unload first truck and than pick container from trailer to take it to construction site -
in europe we take axles more seriously than you do....185 k lbs
Cat sdp Thanks this. -
Up here in Sweden almost every truck pulls drawbar trailers. And reason is simple: more load.
The trailer is 13.6 m/44.6 feet. (Eurotrailer)
The truck is 7.8 m/25.6 feet. total length for combination is 25.25 meter/ 82.8 feet
So 2 trucks of this combination haul the same volume of goods than 3 euro tractor-trailers.
Alternative is a 70 feet trailer.
I know company who has 19 meter 62 feet trailer for transports between terminals. -
They have talked about raising weight limits and trailer sizes here for many years ,
It seems scared women hold the upper hand and they are backed by the railroad and their bottomless pockets .
Not likely to change soon , but I can’t see why the average owner or driver would want to pull heavier or larger trailers for likely the same moneyspyder7723, Gearjammin' Penguin, Oxbow and 2 others Thank this.
