Figured I put this out there for those who have the 579 model.
First you won't be able to fit a CB larger than a Cobra 29 in CB hole without modifying the size of the opening.
1. Pop trim off that goes around storage and CB holes, held in place by pressure clips just gently pry trim up till it pops off.
2. Now you should be looking at a black tray with the Velcro strap to hold CB in place, you will need a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the 3 screws then slide that whole tray out.You will see the quick connect power/ground connections on back left corner of the tray.
3. Plug in your CB power cord then wrap Velcro strap around your radio.
4. Slide tray back into position, back of tray has clips that snap in place. Line up screw holes on front of tray install screws.
5. Pop trim piece back in place, make sure there lined up or you will break them off.

I thought they came with 50,000 watt antennae's and cb preinstalled, and a tooth pick holder as standard options...

How did you run coax, and how much was needed? -
-
It took me 45' of coax. The route I ran coax was a long one. I had an APU installed on my truck so there was a hole in floor under bunk centered on back of sleeper wall where I ran cable up thru from antanne. I ran it under floor mat in under bunk storage (had to use hole saw to make hole big enough to fish coax thru bunk metal wall coming into sleeper (still under mat) heading to wall behind drivers seat to the door threshold drivers door ( you have to gently pry up metal tread on threshold, it snaps in place to access mounting screws ) run coax under threshold and up wall between body/inside body panel heading up wall towards airhorn pull. Now this is where it becomes a pain in ###. You'll have to cut off coax end to fish coax thru body panel where airhorn pull is ( like about a 1/4" of room to work with between body and body panel) once fished thru there run coax thru upper dash to CB and then a trip to CB shop to have a new coax end put on and have SWR's set. It took me about two hours to do it, save some time just cut one end off coax to route your wire.
ExOTR, stacks and Slowmover1 Thank this. -
Maybe I did mine wrong or something. Mine doesn’t stick completely out through the hole like that.
