The reason I ask of course is because I'm not.
My bunk heater broke about a month ago. I asked them to route me towards Gary for maintenance, which they did. That night when I arrived, I put in a maintenance request. Nothing happened. The next day I put in a maintenance request. Nothing happened. The third day I asked if I could just leave and go do my run. I had 4 days to get the maintenance done and then get to Fargo, and the only part that got done was going to Fargo. It's been about two weeks now and I'm still idling every night. What gives? And more importantly, what can I do about this?
Do you get your maintenance?

spinpsychle, Did you actually talk to anyone in maintaince after you filled out your request? I have had good service at Gary with P.M.s and repairs needed ASAP.
-
Of course I complained. At around noon on the second day, I was "fourth in line."

Wow, that stinks and sorry to hear that. I have not had any issues with Gary maintenance. In fact, today they were backed up as hell and were still really nice to me. I needed to air up my tires and the trailer inspector wasn't in on weekends so one of the guys let me pull into his maint. bay and use his tools to air them up. That is the only terminal in the Midwest that isn't 100 miles from nowhere (like Marshfield and Iron Mountain), so they get the brunt of the work. A bunk heater seems like something that would take priority over other things though, especially with the temps we've had lately.

Spinpsychle, What I was trying to ask was did you talk to maintainence right after you filled out your request so they would know your needs. I don't know why they dropped the ball with your bunk heater, but on one repair on my truck they had my delivery date two days later than the actual delivery which put me way down on the repair list.

I complained again and now they're going to send me back to Gary for round two. I'll be sure to harass maintenance in person when I get there.

Try to gey routed to Kaukauna or Iron Mnt.

Boy I went to Iron Mt. last week. There isn't a soul there! Weren't even any tractors or trailers parked. They should be able to get you in/out in no time. Their shower is nice, just like taking one at home.

Keep Iron Mountain a secret... park your truck inside like everyone else so other drivers think it's deserted.
Iron Mountain's hours have changed a bit... I don't even think the shop guys are there on the weekends any more, at least not very late if they are.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
I was hoping this thread was dead, but I just woke up shivering at 1am. It's broken again.
Fail.
