This is a good topic, I remember it asking the question for a physical address and then you have a choice for a mailing address. For those using ups store address how are you handling the situation when you get an safety audit?

You could use a ups type box BUT the problem you may run into is your states IRP. My states IRP office requires if not a home address, that you must own, rent or lease a STRUCTURE on the "business address" and must have an employee working there during business hours

So check ya states IRP code.

Indeed and places like Maryland will actually verify the address. I tried to use a PO box and was declined. I may get some really cheap office space for about 200 a month and use that for everything soon. OR maybe rent a residential room from someone. Also, just because your state may say it has to be an employee there is absolutely incorrect. One can use their home address and never have an employee. Too many states are not very clear on what the IRP requires. If any doubt at all about IRP contact them in VA directly and/or read the manual from them. That's what the states are supposed to be following.

You may list a mailing address but it will still show your physical address on the fmcsa website.

Accept your $11/month doesn't have a live body there that'll great anyone coming to your business. Something that is stated in both the IRP and FMCSA regulations.

That's where something like a virtual office should work. It's not just a po box or a ups store box, it's a real business front.

I would strongly look into a virtual office unless you really want an office space you don't use.

This is stated but if you're a resident of your base state you can just use your home address without said employee per IRP. It also mentions using third party providers are not allowed like the virtual office etc etc.
