Good swr readings in Texas and Florida, maybe they are only designed to work in warm climates, lol. The one thing I do know is that they are more flexible then the Firesticks so there isnt as much stress on the mounts and if the procomms didnt work I was looking at getting the Firestick Firefly model or using the good old Francis because if the factory mounts get damaged there really isnt alot of options available, havnt seen any aftermarket alternative mounts for sale similar to the brackets that can be bought for the Cascadia.

Im in Plant City,Fl and skip is heavy down here from all over, sounds like a bees nest, not implying that the procomms are picking up more than other antennas, I believe a coat hanger would work today, sounds like an all day event. Guess I will drop down to the bowl and get entertained while getting unloaded, which could also be an all day event.

Next time you're in icy conditions, put some WD40 on the antennas to see if it keeps ice from accumulating on them. I believe Craig wrote about that.

Good question. I don't know. All mine are stainless steel.

For composite materials, perhaps silicone spray would be better to try?

Well so far as I've figured out, none of the fiberglass antennas work out very well for me on this thing.

The newest additions were Browning BR-78 flat coils. Using the standard 8 inch or whatever shaft with those did not do too bad. You can still tell a big difference between them and the 10ks though.

I'd love to check out those antennas that @rabbiporkchop posted but I have no idea where to even start finding those. Getting above the roof with the coil would definitely be 100x better than all the fumbling I'm doing right now.

I'll build you one for free if you provide the stainless shaft. All I need is a 3/8 in by 4 feet long piece of 304 stainless.
I'll donate the rest of the parts

    stacks and Hick Thank this.

I'll buy all of the parts. I do need 2 of them due to the cophased setup. As long as I can find the parts online I can drop-ship them to you or find a Lowe's and hand deliver them. Just shoot me a PM on how you want to do this :)

Due to the distance between mounting spots, I'd recommend a single on the driver side. Easy to fish the cable through from inside.

The rubber boot slides out away from the cab making it easy to fish the cable through.
