One of our family friends is high up at Swift. At Thanksgiving, I jokingly offered him my pumpkin pie, saying, "Here you go, Boss Man."

He replied, "We really don't have anything to do with you. I couldn't even look up your driver number if I tried."

But he did take my pumpkin pie.

 

Hello to all, It's been awhile since i last posted. So long i couldn't even remember my password. I have a little down time so i thought i would drop a line. As far as what anyone says about Central is swift they have not worked for this company. It is true that Jerry who owns a great share in Swift owns the Company but he also owns about 30 others either out right or majority share holder in. As far as the mormon church is concerned they can't hold any money in trust or they would lose their non profit status. People who come one here to start trouble or babble about something they really know nothing about should just sign in to Ebay and get a life. I hear they are selling them really cheap. JJRanch

You are at least partially correct... Swift is now under the umbrella of Saint. But, Central Reefer (Utah), Central Freight (Michigan) and Swift (Phx, AZ) do NOT share facilities or employees. They are headquartered in three separate states, and operate as separate corporations. I have no idea where you come up with the tie-in to Central Freight.

There is nothing published linking any of these companies that I am aware of or have ever seen. I do believe there is a working agreement/contract wherein Swift and Central reefer work together at times. I worked for Central Reefer and there was talk of them being a part of Swift, but Swift has always denied that.

I have no idea where you find the information linking the Morman Church to these companies either. There are published lists of all corporations which the Morman Church has an interest in, and though extensive, it includes no trucking companies let alone these companies. Moyes is the man in control of Swift and Saint. Below is an article which can be googled and read.. and I have reproduced in part:

Ya I got a big load 1900 miles and was asked to do it in 48 hrs. I took the load as I always do and then told them to change to Appt. time they did but it dropped on Friday so no help fpr the 1300 miles for the week. It was a good chat and if I'm still here well have to do it again. Had a nice chat with a Prime driver the other day and looks as if they have a good deal going on so I'll take a little time to talk to them.

John will be at his app in the morning, but the app time isn't until Monday afternoon, So im guessing he will be stuck in Portland PA until Tuesday his new pay week is looking pretty crappy .
