Cause I don't idle and I maintain it ...also seen firsthand the bills on the run to fail mentality.

I see ..you think by maintaining your truck you will avoid failures and big bills... but what about oem low quality or bad designed parts that you have installed on the truck ? they can go bad any moment and you will need to buy new dpf. Friend of mine replaced the dpf on Cummins twice within a year because of sudennly failed turbo.

That's certainly a possibility and why I shove every dime back for it .
All I'm saying is I've learned from a few previous employers lack of maintenance .
The all isx fleet I'm leased to now goes the emissions systems every 200k and has very few problems .

unfortunately today's emission problems mostly related to bad design and bad quality oem parts.. By maintaining the truck you are lowering risks to 30-40%

Or clean it with a drill and saw if you remove all the filter media and then put it back on there is no more soot

For the DPF and SCR catalysts. In a 2012 Freightliner Coronado 122SD, ISX600. Motor was a nightmare from day one. This last time finally had Cummins involved doing the diagnostics and repairs. They and dealer said this truck has a different one then all the others they keep in stock??? Said there is no remans or aftermarket available for it.
I'll have to get the number off the old one and see if they are BS'ing me.

Only good thing is, it has now been running trouble free for longer than it ever has since new.
