Maybe so but when you want to do it at a Fortune 500 company, but not a mega trucking company, then you play by different rules.

Aint nothing wrong with that...if you price the cost of the motel into your rate quote.

Heck, motel is far better than sleeper and less noisy (idling reefers) and access to shore power (for engine block heater)

Steel Dragon and Brettj3876 Thank this.

A bicycle or a skate/longboard on the truck could sure make a difference. Ride to a gym, ride to grab some provisions, ride to go take pictures with whatever camera you got,. etc
Kept my bicycle on the passengers seat when I was long haul. Even carried it in the daycab on a few overnights I did in the last, few years.

Steel Dragon and Oldironfan Thank this.

Gideons bible from a hotel is meant to be taken, from the hotel. Yet apparently it also got taken from my truck while in shop? Irony maybe?

Welp, I Believe your an Owner op too correct?

On a 10, once a week I Grease the Truck,I Carry a hand Pump manual gun, takes me 30 minutes,Then I Shower and put the Greasy Clothes in a bag to have the misses wash when I get home.

Also- Sit down,Talk with people, have a Good Dinner, But especially Don't be a Loner........If you stay too yourself, You'll Never develop friends or a Love for this job.

Be Helpful,On a 10, Help others maybe Back into a spot, Help them Hold a Flashlight While they Fix something,

DONT just sit there in your truck looking out the windshield. when parked. That Will be the Death of you......Believe me.
