Peterbilt Multiplexer box and AM/FM bleeding into CB

I am running an 04 Pete 379. The problem is that whenever I turn on the AM/FM/CD player, it bleeds over into my CB. The Needle jumps around with the music and causes receive problems.

I have tried 3 different radios including off the shelf stock CBs and it does it with all of them.

I can turn the RF gain down abotu half way and the problem goes away but then my recieve goes to pot also.

If I hit the mute or pause on the radio then the problem goes away.

Now I talked with another one of our drivers and he said he had the same problem with his 03 379 but his newer one (07 or 08) does not do it.

Did Pete come out with a new multiplexer box to fix this problem?

I know I could just seperate the system and run new coax etc but it will be spring before I have the time and weather to do this. We are just starting our busy season here in North Dakota and I will be busting butt until freeze up and then it will be too cold to be working outside on the truck.

I run a 08 pete, I have the same problem, only backwards, the cb feeds back thur the am/fm/cd. I ran new wire and bypassed the multiplexer box an change from the fractory fiberglass wipes.
there has been no problems so far...

Well I still have not fugured out this problem. I quess the easiest would be to install a seperate antenna for the AM/FM. I may just unplug the AM/FM antenna lead for now since I don't listen to the radio and just listen to CDs and see what happens.

Not real fun nto being able to have both the CB and the radio on at the same time.

I tried contacting Rami about this since they make the multiplexer and the antennas for Peterbilt but I have not gotten a reply back yet.

I know it is not my CB because I have tried 3 different CBs with the same results.

I have a similar problem in an International 9900i, but only when my inverter is running. Obvious answer? Turn of the inverter, but it runs my laptop.

That was the first thing I checked long ago. The grounding system is fine. I even added more grounding straps to the chassis etc as backup.

is the radio wired directly to the battery or somewhere in the dash ? a dedicated power line could help as well as the ferites . could also try a noise filter on the power leads .
