Droy, is this what you're thinking about?:

If so, google Diesel injection of Pittsburgh. That is one of their products.

PS_ Thanks 13letter- you kinda beat me to the punch! ;)

Droy, my buddy has the pittsburgh power muffler wallbanger,s showing you and he loves it. it not as loud as straights but you can hear him. it is well built, you can hit it with a hammer if you want to. it's a lot higher cost than GR.

Other than taming down the harsh sound of straights and still being louder than I liked I saw no performance difference.

I THOUGHT the mpgs might have come up .1
That truck didn't have a working pyro so I didn't know about the temp. Better flow should not result in higher temps.

Probably about the same sound as the GR that I used.

I think I'm going to ditch the GR muffler, put on the ACUP U-pipe to eliminate a muffler altogether. Run it and see how it is. Then maybe fab in a resonator to cut a little noise. Have room for one of those 8" dia ones. Maybe put 2 on it. Also thought about using a Dynomax race muffler. Also 8" dia, 2 differnt lenghts available. Only drop 2-4dbs though. Bout same cost as those resonators with a claim of 3-6dbs. Still want to check real backpressure on this thing. Gotta do some checking into that. Thanks all for your info!

the binder has that 4" exhaust pipe doesn't it? that's always been the restriction in an IH. that muffler is a good unit. ALso the acert cats biggest restriction is the dual smallish turbo's not the mufflers

THis one has 4" pipe after the y pipe to the stacks, which are 5". the Y is after the muffler. Would like to change that too. But, right now, this differnce I'm seeing is after putting this different muffler on. I'm going to test backpressure with and without the muffler, and may even put the stocker back on and test that too. Like I posted earlier, maybe on another thread, the internal design of this muffler does not make sense at all. Oh, and this ones not an ACERT. Ole 3406E. Seen on a '04 ISX in a W900 has 4"right off the turbo. Surprising

GR has 2 different models of mufflers. One is like the one pic posted earlier. The other is similar to stock.

If you use the ACUP pipe, you CAN use a regular straight through muffler, as long as the body is no more than 9" in diameter. That is how I used resonators that were straight through.

Use the u-pipe, resonator or muffler of choice, a length of stack and some clamps. Will fit into the factory mounting brackets. Works best if you had the oval shaped OEM mufflers, vs the round ones.

I took the resonators off of my truck since I don't run the mountains anymore. Sounds right, now. :D

A resonator alone sounds like crap on an ISX, unless you run 8" stacks. Then, it sounds closer to a N14. :)
